I first covered DaDaFest in 2010 and I was back last week for the launch of Niet Normaal, the title of their 2012 exhibition at The Bluecoat. Niet Normaal, Difference On Display features the work of over 30 international artists and is on at The Bluecoat throughout the Festival and then, in mid August, the performance side of DaDaFest kicks off with a fantastic programme. The day started off at Lime Street where people were being stopped to fill out an Are You Normal questionnaire and it ended with brilliant performances, compered by Mik Scarlet, including Wirral based band The BeatHovens, poet Roger Cliffe-Thompson, very very funny Dutch comedian Vincent Bilijo and Burlesque performances from Diva Hollywood and Millie Dollar! After a year off, DaDaFest is back big time and I’ll be back with some photography from the performance side of things in August!
