I was back at the Pier Head last night for the second night of On The Waterfront and it was a very different kettle of fish as Smooth FM were playing host and the main act was Russell Watson with a massive bill of 80′s acts and modern singer songwriters paving the run up to the pop opera star and of course there was fireworks at the end and the atmosphere down there was incredible last night. Highlight for me was the brilliant Ren Harvieu who hails from Lancashire but her band are all local as are some of her songwriters with Howard Eliott Payne writing her recent top ten single and Dave from The Zutons also contributing to her debut album which is well worth checking out. It’s the third time I’ve seen Ren sing with the first being a guest spot with Liverpool’s Sixteen Tonnes at The Zanzibar, the second being the Camp & Furnace launch and now on a big stage in front of thousands. A perfect highlight and a great weekend!
Oh and the lady on the right in the 6th photograph down had just been proposed to by her partner who got on the mic onstage to ask here. And she said yes. Shouted it in fact!

Great pictures of The Waterfront event, Mark. Thanks for sharing. I’ve Tweeted the link to this site and will post it on Russell’s Facebook and our own blog/FB page if that’s okay.
